LEARN TO PLAY CRICKET! THE FASTEST GROWING SPORT IN THE WORLD!
West Vancouver Cricket Club has the largest junior cricket program
in Vancouver with three teams playing. Over 40 young players from
across Metro Vancouver are enrolled in our program and play in the
spring / summer season (May to Aug).
The main aim of the club is to provide healthy recreation in an
enjoyable, optimistic environment while playing a sport! With the
help of our junior coaches, senior cricketers and hopefully some
enthusiastic parents, we are confident of another outstanding year
ahead.
Kids aged 6 - 12 years participate in Kanga Cricket, which is
played with a plastic bat and a soft ball.
This is the ideal way to introduce your child to the basic skills
of cricket.
Fun, skills based activities are followed by a modified game The
games are fast paced and designed to keep the children going!

Kids aged 12 -17 years old play the regulation game with a wooden bat and a hard ball. This program is geared towards those who possess past experience in the game. Training sessions include batting and bowling in the nets as well as on field drills.
We have a combination of professional and volunteer coaches. All volunteers are trained and accredited coaches.
Registration for the 2021 season will take place on in late April or early May at the clubhouse at Hugo Ray Park. Due to COVID-19 the cost of the program has not been determined at this time.
At present we participate in the Vancouver and District Saturday
Morning League with the Dolphins team, Superstrikers from
Coquitlam and St George's School hardball team. During the season
we play games around Metro Vancouver as well as hosting a team
from Victoria, BC and travelling to Victoria to play a return
game.
Several junior players from the program have gone on to play at
senior level in the British Columbia Mainland Cricket League.
West Vancouver Cricket Club provides coaches to Collingwood School Cricket Team. The school team trains and plays at Hugo Ray Park. The School League runs from April - May in the spring.
Kanga or softball cricket is the ideal way to introduce your child to the basic skills of cricket. The modified program works on the effective method of introducing and practicing a skill then following it with a game. This method has proved both a learning and enjoyable environment for all our budding young cricketers in both our junior program and our summer camps. The program also offers regulation hardball cricket geared towards those who possess past experience in the game. The rotational program will see participants take part in a number of cricket sessions under the guidance of professional coaches and players. Training sessions, including batting and bowling provide a great opportunity to learn and improve and modified games are regular features. Cricket can be played by both boys and girls and we welcome kids of all abilities and skills levels.
