WEST VANCOUVER CRICKET CLUB

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR MEMBERS

 

  1. Members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that will enhance the reputation of West Vancouver Cricket Club and of Cricket in general, both on and off the field.

  1. Players are expected to abide by the provisions of the Code of Conduct of the British Columbia Mainland Cricket League.

  1. The Club expects members to aid in the organization of and to participate in Club events and functions.

  1. Annual subscriptions must be paid on or before the first game of the year, for current members or upon acceptance of membership, for new members.  Payment of subs will be a criterion in the team selection process.  NO PAY, NO PLAY

  1. The Selection Committee will carry out team selections.  Players must indicate their availability to the selection committee or to a team captain prior to the selection meeting.

  1. ALL players are encouraged to complete one league umpiring duty.  If sufficient number of players DO NOT sign-up for a club umpiring assignment, the Club will assign umpiring duties to players who have not completed an assignment.

  1. Players should arrive at the ground at least 60 minutes before the scheduled start of a match and be dressed to commence play on time.  Appropriate kit should be worn during games.

  • Elite, Premier and 1st Division Games – 11:00 am for 12 noon start

  • Division 2-6 (WVCC teams 3-5) – 11:45 am for 12:30 pm start

  1. ALL players are required to prepare the field prior to and at the conclusion of a game i.e. the placing of stumps, boundary markers, scoreboards and numbers, crease markings, etc, making sure that the team equipment is properly used and stored.

  1. All players are expected to bring food for themselves and one other person for serving at the tea break for all home games.

  1. All selected players must assume that a game is ON unless otherwise informed.

  1. Players must at all times, accept without dissent, the decision of the umpires.

  1. Disciplinary issues will be resolved by the Governing Council and its appointees.

  1. Members are asked to ensure that the Club’s facilities are not abused.
  1. Attendance at practices is encouraged and may have a bearing on team selection.

  1. TEAM EQUIPMENT IS NOT TO BE USED AT PRACTICE SESSIONS.  PRACTICE EQUIPMENT IS PROVIDED AND IS STORED IN THE CRICKET HUT ADJACENT TO THE OUTDOOR NETS.
